MegaCompressorZip Licence
=========================
Copyright (c) 2026 Pete Walton. All rights reserved.
1. Personal use (free)
You may install and use MegaCompressorZip free of charge on computers that are not
part of an organisation's network (not joined to a Windows domain or to a managed
identity tenant) for personal, non-commercial purposes: your own files, hobby
projects, study and evaluation.
2. Commercial use (licence required)
Any use by or for a business, government body, school, non-profit or other
organisation, including use on a computer joined to an organisation's domain, requires
a commercial licence. A commercial licence is a one-off purchase per computer on which
the software is installed (a "machine licence"), or a site licence covering all
computers of one organisation. The software detects domain membership and will not
compress or extract on such a computer until a valid licence key is installed.
3. Evaluation
Organisations may evaluate the software for up to 30 days before buying a licence.
4. Restrictions
You may not sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the software or licence keys, remove
or circumvent the licence check, or use the software to provide a service to third
parties without a written agreement with the copyright holder.
5. Source code
Where the source code is made available, it is provided for inspection, building for
your own licensed use, and contributions back to the project. The restrictions above
apply to builds made from it. No other rights are granted.
6. No warranty
The software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied,
including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a
particular purpose and non-infringement. In no event shall the copyright holder be
liable for any claim, damages or other liability arising from the use of the software.
Always keep a verified copy of important data: the software checks every chunk and
file on extraction, but no software is a substitute for backups.
